The current working concept

One place for several kinds of court play.

The current planning mix is six tennis courts, four dedicated pickleball courts, and one basketball court. Professional design, surveys, community input, and funding will shape the final plan.

Working court mix

This concept keeps tennis as a central use while adding dedicated space for pickleball and basketball.

Early concept: Court sizes, the basketball layout, and the number of pickleball courts remain under review. The drawing is not a final engineering plan.

Ideas for discussion

What could make the site more useful?

These additions are optional ideas for the design team to evaluate. Their cost, space, accessibility, and maintenance needs have not been settled.

Optional features people have proposed

1

Clasbey parking access

A connection that could make it easier to reach the courts from the Clasbey parking lot.

2

Viewing space

A low grandstand or bleacher pad overlooking the southeast court.

3

Center aisle shade

Shade sails above the main walkway between court areas.

4

Southeast pavilion

A small pavilion in the open area southeast of the courts.

Choices that remain open

Basketball layoutBuild a full court or a half court.
Children's spaceInclude a small play area or keep the site focused on courts.
Pickleball capacityKeep four courts or consider two more.

Share your priorities below. A preference is public input, not a final design decision.

Community input

Feedback is shaping the next questions.

The October 1 meeting and written comments show strong interest in local courts, along with questions the project still needs to answer.

A future program vision

Courts can support more than open play.

If the facilities, staffing, and partnerships come together, Savannah could offer activities for young players, adults, and families.

Junior tennis club

Lessons and regular play for young players.

Pickleball leagues

Organized league play for different skill levels.

Tennis leagues

Local team and individual match play.

Cardio tennis

A coached fitness session built around tennis drills.

Three on three basketball

A small team league for neighborhood players.

These are possibilities for future planning. No program schedule, staff assignment, or operating partner has been approved.

A possible community campaign

A clear giving guide will follow the cost estimate.

The project is preparing a Land and Water Conservation Fund application with a November 13, 2026 target date. The grant has not been awarded, and the full project budget is still being developed.
